The 23 April is St George's Day in England. Saint George is the patron saint of England, but did you know that he was not English?¡
George was born in Turkey in the third century (siglo III). He was a soldier who protested against Rome's persecution of Christians. There are many myths about Saint George. The most popular one is that he killed a dragon! In the 1400s, the English said that ge was their protector.

His career started with a small role in the Harry Potter films. Today this English actor is famous for being a vampire!
Actor Robert Pattinson never planned to become a vampire when he grew up. But despite having had other, smaller roles, he will always be famous as Edward Cullen, the vampire in the films adapted from Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series.

Pattinson started modelling when he was only 12 years old, but stopped at 16. "When I first started I was tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs... the androgynous look was cool. Then, I became too miuch of a guy, so I did not get any more jobs", he says.

Meet Elwood, the world's ugliest dog!
Elwood is a Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix. He won a prize of $1.000 for being so... ugly!
But Elwood's owner, Karen Quigley of New Jersey, USA, is very pleased with her dog.
"I think he's the cutest animal that ever lived," he says.

Gingerbread is a traditional British cake.
And now a pastry chef has made a sculpture of famous sites in London... from gingerbread!
There's the London Eye, the British Houses of Parliament, and the prestigious hotel, Grosvenor House. The chef used 50 kilos of dough to make the sculpture, witch is 2,5 metres in diameter.
It looks too good to eat!

PEOPLE -MILEY CYRUS

The American TV series Hannah Montana is an enormous hit. Meet its star, Miley Ray Cyrus, who plays Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana in the show.

Miley, the 15 years old actress, is called Miley Ray Cyrus in real life. She auditioned for the role in the TV series HANNA MONTANA when she was just 11 years old. The people at Disney thought she was too young. A year later, aged 12, Miley got the role.

In the series Hanna Montana, Miley Cyrus plays a normal teenager called Miley Stewart, who lives with ger dad, Robby, and her older brother, Jackson. She goes to high school with her best friends Lilly and Oliver.

Like teenagers, Miley Stewart worries about boys and school. And she gas a big secret -her double life as superstar Hannah Montana! Miley has brown hair. Hannah has blonde hair and fabulous clothes.

Concerts are the most exciting part of Miley Cyrus's career. "When I go out (on stage) and see all the fans, the best thing is to hear them singing all my songs. I think that's the most special and rewarding thing," she says.

This is not a normal Ferrari race car. This Ferrari is made of 80,000 Legos! It was made to celebrate Lego World, an anual Lego festival in The Netherlands.

He got the idea for THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE when four children stayed at his house. They were borred, so he told them stories.

The Chronicles of Narnia was a first published in 1950.

There are seven books in the series. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is his best-known book: it was recently voted the best children's book of all time in Great Britain.

The books follow the adventures of a group of children who enter a magic Wardrobe and find themselves in Narnia. Here they discover a magical world created by Lion Asian. But it is in danger and the children must fight with the forces of evil to save Narnia.
